Questions

Metro crash care, the questions people ask after a crash.

Fourteen questions, answered in the desk's own voice, using only what Missouri Injury Clinic publishes on moinjuryclinic.com. Where the honest answer is ask the clinic, we say so.

The questions below come from the same place the rest of this desk does: the week after a crash, when people are sore, foggy, and trying to figure out which door to call. Open any question. Where an answer points to a longer guide, the guide is the better read.

Which office should I call?

Whichever is nearest by the drive you can make this week. Hazelwood, (314) 627-1411, for north county and the airport corridor. Tesson Ferry, (314) 530-5480, for south city and south county. O'Fallon, (636) 280-0990, for St. Charles County and the far west. The offices page has addresses and hours.

How fast is a crash exam scheduled?

Call the office nearest you and say it is a crash exam; the desk does not publish wait times and this desk will not quote one it cannot verify. Call in the morning or after two, because all three offices close from 12 to 2.

Is it the same doctor at all three offices?

It is one clinic, Missouri Injury Clinic, run by Joseph L. Hollingsworth, DC, with the same lanes and the same standard across all offices. Ask the office you call who you will see.

Do you treat concussions or just spines?

Both. TBI and concussion rehab is a dedicated lane, and the clinic names its tools on its own site: oculomotor rehabilitation, neurofeedback, Alpha Stim, vagus nerve stimulation at the tragus, sensory motor integration, exercise with oxygen, and cognitive rehabilitation software. Whether any of those apply to you is decided after the exam.

I felt fine at the scene. Do I still need an exam?

Feeling fine at the scene settles nothing. Adrenaline masks pain, and soft-tissue and concussion symptoms commonly appear one to three days later. An exam inside the week gives a clinician a dated starting point. The week-after guide walks through it day by day.

It has been three weeks. Is it too late?

No. A later exam is still a real exam, and being honest about the timeline is part of the record. Go anyway.

What about the midday hours?

All three offices close from 12 to 2 every day. Fridays are mornings only in Hazelwood and on Tesson Ferry, and by appointment in O'Fallon. Wednesday in O'Fallon is also by appointment.

What does the first visit include?

The clinic publishes its auto injury lane as diagnosis and a treatment plan after a crash. A crash exam at a chiropractic injury clinic typically also means a history of what happened and an exam of how the neck and back move before any diagnosis is made. The first visit guide lists what to bring and the four questions to ask.

What does it cost and what insurance is accepted?

Ask the clinic directly. This desk does not publish payment terms for a clinic it does not own and will not describe an arrangement it cannot verify.

Do I need an attorney before I get examined?

No. You do not need to have decided anything about a claim before you get examined. If you already have an attorney, bring their contact so records can be sent where they need to go. Joseph L. Hollingsworth, DC, is a chiropractor, not a lawyer, and nothing on this desk is legal advice.

What is the record everyone talks about?

The clinical chart a licensed clinician builds while examining you: what happened, what hurts, what the exam found, the plan, and the date. It is a care document first. If a claim is ever part of your story, the dated record from the first exam is what everyone will ask for. The record page explains what it is and is not.

When is it the emergency room instead?

Chest pain, a sudden severe headache, weakness or numbness on one side, trouble speaking, a loss of bowel or bladder control, or a head injury with vomiting or worsening confusion is an emergency room trip right now, not a call to a clinic. The ER-or-clinic guide draws the line.

I live in Illinois. Does this apply to me?

The offices are in Missouri, and Hazelwood is usually the shortest drive from the Metro East across the I-270 or I-70 bridges. The river crossings guide covers it.

Is this site the clinic's official site?

No. The clinic's site is moinjuryclinic.com. This is advertising material published for the clinic, and it says so on every page. Read about this desk for how it is paid and how facts are sourced.

What this desk will not answer

We will not estimate what an injury costs, how any claim will turn out, or what an insurer will do. We will not describe a billing arrangement we cannot verify. We will not tell you whether to hire a lawyer. We will not rank the clinic against anyone, and we will not print a review the clinic does not publish. Those are not gaps in the page; they are the edges of what an advertising-supported reading desk can honestly say.

The emergency bright line

Chest pain, a sudden severe headache, weakness or numbness on one side, trouble speaking, a loss of bowel or bladder control, or a head injury with vomiting or worsening confusion is an emergency room trip right now, not a call to a clinic.

Advertising disclosure. This page is advertising. This desk is compensated for featuring Missouri Injury Clinic, and it is not the clinic, not a law office, and not a party to anyone's insurance claim. We publish only the lanes, offices, and hours the clinic publishes on moinjuryclinic.com. We do not write reviews, rank providers, or give medical or legal advice.

Educational only, not medical advice and not a diagnosis.

Get examined this week

The short answer to most of these: get examined this week.

Missouri Injury Clinic examines crash, concussion, and sports injuries at three offices across the metro. A documented exam this week protects your health and your options. You do not need to have decided anything about a claim before you get examined.
